This is episode one of Cover Your Ears, where we will feature [every Monday] cover songs, both good or bad, but will at least be interesting. Let’s begin with something good. I featured this song on the first Lover’s Rock (which I am coincidentally working on again for this year as I type). Its’s Too $hort’s cover of Sexual Harassment’s “I Need A Freak”. It still retains that stripped down electro funk slump but has Too $hort well…being Too $hort. (*maybe not one for the office).
Nick Hook of CZ fame made a mix for the good people of Lookout Montreal. Not so coincidentally, Cubic Zirconia will be playing both Montreal and Toronto alongside LuckyMe cohorts Machine Drum, Jacques Greene & Lunice this February. Stay tuned for more details TBA very soon.

Both Pho and Allanna made mixes in support of the second NUFF SAID party (Friday January 14th @ Wrongbar) describing the tracklist as “Moving from dark r&b to percussive house to glossy bass and past dubstep. . .”
