WHERE A.R.E. THEY???

Mr. Mikey Apples posted the “New York Muscle” video the other day and it got me thinking, where is the dynamic duo, A.R.E. Weapons? Its like Batman and Robin abandoned Gotham music city and the city has gone to shit. Its a shame. They are arguably one of the greatest bands of our generation. Like the mangled step-child of the new york sound with equal parts Suicide, the Ramones, The Cars, Foetus (admittedly British but Thirwell has lived in New York since the 80s). They need to make a comeback. I predict remix ep comeback! (Optimo, Factory Floor…). You heard it here first.

I have been listening to alot of evil drone stuff lately (Umberto, Jacula…) but what i have been really digging is Ensemble Economique’s “Psychical” album from 2010 (i know a bit of a late pass) but it is just as evil as it was last year. Side effects include: your cat attacking you (evil); conjured devils getting into your apartment and over staying their welcome (more evil); single digit weather (pure evil).

right into the Halloween folder.
